Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

Lakeshore United Methodist Assembly

This camping and retreat center for the Memphis Conference is located right in our back yard, Eva. For over 60 years, Lakeshore has served as the place of Divine encounter; an outpost where the grace of God has often come into full experience.   It is where the Higher Voice has been heard, lives have been changed, and the world made a better place.
For 60 years, this church has played a large part in the visioning and support of the ministries at Lakeshore. Mr. Wayne L. Hall, Sr was elected the first treasurer for Lakeshore and served on the board for the first twenty years. The tradition continues today with our church members serving in many different roles.   Joe Whitworth is currently serving as Treasurer. Danielle Miller has been a part of the summer staff and spent the past two summers as Director of the Wilderness program.   Other members serving in the summer of 2008 were: volunteer counselors - Paige Martin, Ali Jordan, and Alyx Burrus; Karen King as Senior High program director; Kathy Kaigler as chair of the Board of Trustees and Bro. Dean as the camp dean for an elementary camp making him commonly known as Dean Dean. With work teams from our UMM and youth volunteers, countless hours have been invested at Lakeshore to improve and maintain the facilities and to minister to those that come to this sacred place.
A variety of programs are offered for all ages, please visit the website below for a more detailed listing of opportunities to participate and serve.
To assist children and youth of the congregation in attending Lakeshore, the church will pay one-half of the registration fee for one camp.
