Thrift Shop

Somebody has been busy !!


One of Benton County’s Best Kept Secrets!

Who:   The United Methodist Women
What:  The Thrift Shop offering seasonal,
            clean, gently-worn clothing at bargain
            Prices (less than Goodwill or Salvation
            Army) for over thirty years.  
When:  Tuesday & Saturday 9:00 am. - 2:00 p.m.
Where: First United Methodist Church -
                Just off the court square at the North                                 end of the church on Chestnut Street.
All Proceeds go toward missions, either locally, nationally, or abroad. The Thrift Shop contributes to a variety of needs, spending $8,000 to $10,000 annually.   Services offered to local burn-outs and transients is offered free of charge.  Shoes are available for needy school children.  
The Thrift Shop is run by volunteer staff and workers.
Donations are always appreciated.  The Thrift Shop is limited to clothing and small household items – no furniture or appliances. 
The UMW Thrift Shop originated in the early ‘70’s by the pastor's wife, Mary Jane Henderson, and Cletus & Jimmie Boyd. Many of the church women have been instrumental through the years in keeping the flame burning!
